‘Rice is captivating’

THE GUARDIAN

Hi, I’m Maddie. I’m an award-winning writer-performer based in London. I love to make work centring female voices, family dynamics and societally taboo topics with buckets of wit and joy.

My debut one-woman play, PICKLE JAR, won the 'Three Weeks Editors Award' in Edinburgh, transferred, and had a hugely successful run at SOHO Theatre. My second play, SELFISH, was written as part of Soho Theatre's Soho Six and my third play, GOODBYE DANDELION has just completed a successful run at Edinburgh Fringe, winning the Underbelly Future’s Fund, selling out and receiving 18 five and four star reviews.

As a screenwriter, I’ve developed work with APPLE TV, BBC and AMC and worked in writers rooms for Netflix’s CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, alongside Vicky Jones, Disney's EVERYTHING YOU NEVER SAID, and an UNTITLED project for Phoebe Waller Bridge.
